In Touch Counseling Services

Psychological Counseling & Wellness Center located in Camas, WA

Thoughtful Therapy, Wherever Life Takes You

Therapy should fit into your life—not require you to rearrange your life around it.

At In Touch Counseling Services, secure telehealth provides a private and flexible way to access personalized mental health therapy when meeting in person is not the most practical option.

Whether you live outside the Camas area, have a demanding schedule, prefer the privacy of your own space, or simply find virtual sessions more comfortable, telehealth can make meaningful therapeutic work more accessible.

Our approach remains the same whether we meet virtually or in person: thoughtful, individualized, integrative therapy grounded in the therapeutic relationship and evidence-based psychotherapy.

Your location does not have to be a barrier to meaningful therapeutic work.

Secure virtual therapy is available throughout Washington, Oregon, and Montana for eligible clients ages 11 and older, subject to applicable licensure and telehealth requirements.

Telehealth- Services from the comfort of home.

What Is Telehealth?

Telehealth, also called virtual therapy or online therapy, allows you to meet with your therapist through a secure video platform rather than coming into the office.

At In Touch Counseling Services, telehealth is used to provide psychotherapy and counseling in a private, professional setting while maintaining the individualized and relational nature of therapy.

Virtual sessions may be appropriate for:

  • Adolescents ages 11+
  • Adults
  • Couples
  • Families

The specific format and approach of therapy are determined based on your needs, goals, circumstances, and clinical appropriateness.

Telehealth is not simply a substitute for sitting in the office. It is another way of creating a therapeutic space that can work within the realities of your life.

The Benefits of Virtual Therapy

Convenience

Telehealth eliminates the need to drive to an office for every appointment. You can participate from an appropriate private location, making it easier to incorporate therapy into work, school, family, and other responsibilities.

Greater Access

Virtual therapy can make it possible to access care even when you live outside the immediate Camas area or have limited access to a therapist whose approach aligns with your needs.

Privacy & Comfort

For many people, engaging in therapy from a familiar environment can feel more comfortable and private. You can create a setting that allows you to settle in and focus on the therapeutic process.

Continuity

Life does not always remain predictable. Travel, changing schedules, family responsibilities, and other circumstances can make traditional appointments difficult.

When clinically and legally appropriate, telehealth can provide greater flexibility and continuity of therapeutic care.

Personalized Care

Virtual therapy does not mean standardized therapy.

Sessions remain individualized to your concerns, goals, developmental stage, relationships, and lived experience.

What Can Be Addressed Through Telehealth?

Many concerns commonly addressed in therapy can be explored through secure virtual sessions.

Depending on your needs, telehealth may support individuals, couples, and families navigating concerns such as:

  • Anxiety
  • ADHD
  • Stress and burnout
  • Trauma and trauma recovery
  • Depression
  • Relationship concerns
  • Life transitions
  • Emotional regulation
  • Self-esteem
  • Parenting and family challenges
  • Grief and loss
  • Difficult or disruptive life experiences

Therapy may incorporate evidence-based psychotherapy along with creative and integrative approaches when clinically appropriate.

For adolescents, the therapeutic approach is adapted to developmental needs and may incorporate creative approaches such as art therapy when appropriate.

An Integrative Approach to Virtual Therapy

Moving therapy online does not mean reducing therapy to a conversation on a screen.

At In Touch Counseling Services, the therapeutic relationship remains at the center of care.

Our integrative approach may draw from:

  • Evidence-based psychotherapy
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Art therapy and other creative therapeutic approaches
  • Mind-body-informed practices
  • Emotional awareness and regulation strategies
  • Exploration of relationship, stress, and life patterns

These approaches are considered based on the individual rather than applied as a predetermined formula.

The goal is not to add more techniques simply for the sake of doing more.

It is to thoughtfully determine what may support your therapeutic goals.

What Should I Expect From a Telehealth Session?

Your first virtual appointment provides an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, what you hope will be different, and what type of support may be appropriate.

From there, therapy is tailored to your individual needs and goals.

You will generally need:

  • A reliable internet connection
  • An appropriate device with video and audio capabilities
  • A private location where you can speak openly
  • A setting that supports your ability to remain engaged in the session

For adolescents, considerations may also include developmental needs, privacy, caregiver involvement, and creating an environment where meaningful therapeutic work can take place.

Your therapist will discuss any telehealth-specific considerations that are relevant to your care.

Creating a Private Space for Therapy

One of the advantages of telehealth is the ability to participate from a location that feels comfortable to you.

Before your session, consider creating a space that is:

Private
Choose a location where you can speak freely without others overhearing your conversation.

Comfortable
A supportive chair, appropriate lighting, and a setting where you can remain present can make virtual sessions feel more natural.

Distraction-Free
Whenever possible, minimize interruptions, notifications, and other demands competing for your attention.

Secure
Use a private internet connection and an appropriate device for your session.

Creating intentional space for therapy can help signal that this time is set aside for you and the work you are doing.

Is Telehealth Right for You?

Virtual therapy can be an excellent option for many individuals, couples, and families, but it is not the right format for every person or every circumstance.

During the initial assessment, we consider your needs, goals, circumstances, and whether telehealth is clinically appropriate.

You do not need to determine this on your own before reaching out.

We can discuss what you are looking for and whether virtual therapy is a good fit.
