How Can Mini Intensive Couple Sessions Improve My Relationship?

How Can Mini Intensive Couple Sessions Improve My Relationship?

Maintaining a healthy partnership can be challenging, as we face the everyday stresses of life, from mounting bills to work responsibilities, parenting duties, and more.

Communication challenges, poor conflict resolution skills, parenting disagreements, and intimacy issues are just a few reasons couples drift apart

When we consider the term “couples counseling,” many of us imagine sessions that may feel abrupt when they end, and as if the appointment is over just as you’re getting into the “meat” of an issue.

At In Touch Counseling, Janele Adams, MA, LMFT, ATR, offers couples, including LGBTQIAS+ partners, multiple options for relationship counseling. This allows them the time and space to do meaningful, impactful emotional work.

For some couples, what’s known as mini-intensive couples sessions can measurably improve their relationship and help them move forward with a more united, confident approach.

Couples counseling can be focused and successful

When couples counseling is more intensive and intentional, you can choose to focus on one or several issues that you see affecting you most.

This type of work allows you to go deeper and delve into beliefs and patterns that may be holding you back as a couple. Instead, Janelle can work closely with you to address specific challenges, equipping you with an emotional toolbox you can use going forward.

She believes in goal-focused therapy for couples and offers extended 80-minute sessions — as opposed to briefer traditional 50-minute ones —  that give couples the time and room to truly examine challenges in a more focused, intentional way.

Client feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with couples expressing a more natural, unhurried rhythm in the intensive sessions, as well as the opportunity to do substantive work with Janell’s active support and guidance.

At In Touch Counseling, couples have options

Our extended sessions are offered in three different packages, which provide even more flexibility and customization for couples and their unique therapeutic needs and goals:

1.    Single 80-minute counseling sessions

These are ideal for couples looking to address an issue that is coming in the way of closeness, but isn’t extremely serious or debilitating. There’s great flexibility, as you can schedule these as you go.

2. A 6-week couples counseling package (all sessions are 80 minutes)

This is a session bundle that allows for deeper, steadier work and relationship-building, as well as closer involvement with Janelle.

3. A 12-week couples counseling package (all sessions are 80 minutes)

This bundle is for couples seeking transformational change in their relationship. You have the space to do intense work on patterns, communication, and other issues affecting your relationships and receive tailored guidance from Janelle.

Although the single sessions and 6-week bundle might be considered more “mini” than the longer 12-week bundle, all are customized to the issues and challenges you map out with Janelle. This allows her to create a targeted treatment plan that’s aligned with your goals.

The right type of couples counseling can raise your awareness as a couple, bring needed healing, and strengthen your future together.
